What we collect, and why.

A short, honest answer to every question a reasonable person would ask about data, cookies, and what we keep. If something here is unclear, email christopher.gardella@gmail.com.

What we collect

Draftanomics is mostly a read-only public site. The things we keep:

  • Email address, when you sign up for the founders' waitlist or a magic-link sign-in on /signup. Stored alongside the page you signed up from and the date — nothing else.
  • An anonymous browser ID, set as an HttpOnly cookie named draftiq_uid. It lets you have a personal watchlist, big board, and notes without an account. It is not linked to your email unless you sign in with a magic link — signing in ties your board and watchlist to your address so they sync across devices. If you clear cookies without signing in, that browser becomes a new visitor.
  • Your local board state, stored in your browser's localStorage. Never sent to our servers unless you click Share board, in which case your top-10 player IDs are encoded into the URL you share. The recipient's browser stays separate from yours.
  • Standard request logs for ~30 days: IP address, user-agent, requested URL, status code. Used to debug errors and detect abuse. Not joined with any other identifier.

What we do not collect

  • No third-party advertising trackers. No Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel.
  • No data sale to anyone, ever.
  • No personal identifiers we did not list above. We do not ask for your name, address, phone number, age, or location.
  • No biometric, behavioral, or device-fingerprint profiles for ad-tech purposes.

Third-party services

The infrastructure Draftanomics runs on:

  • Render hosts the API and database. They receive standard request metadata (IP, headers) and store the application database.
  • Vercel hosts the web frontend. Same — request metadata, no analytics SDKs from us.
  • Resend delivers our emails — magic-link sign-ins and the writing you subscribed to. They process the recipient address in order to send it.
  • Stripe handles payment when you subscribe to Premium. Your card details go to Stripe directly and never touch our servers; we keep only your subscription status.
  • Sentry may receive error reports when the site throws an unhandled exception. We send the stack trace and the minimum context to debug it; we strip email and uid from the payload before it leaves the server.
  • Sportsbook / fantasy-game integrations — none. We do not partner with any betting or fantasy site, and your activity on Draftanomics is not visible to them.

How long we keep things

  • Email signups: until you ask us to delete them, or one year after launch if you never converted.
  • Anonymous browser ID: a cookie expires after one year. Refreshed on every visit.
  • Request logs: 30 days, then deleted.
  • Sentry errors: 30 days on Sentry's default retention.

Your rights

Email christopher.gardella@gmail.com from the address you signed up with and we will, within seven days:

  • Send you the data we have associated with your email.
  • Delete it permanently if you ask.
  • Unsubscribe you from any future emails.

If you are a California or EU resident, this is your CCPA / GDPR data request channel. We do not require you to fill out a form.

Children

Draftanomics is for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it immediately.

Changes

If we change what we collect, we will update this page and bump the Last updated date below. Material changes will be announced on the homepage and emailed to anyone on the waitlist.
