Master scouting report

Robinson is a fluid cover corner with the speed and hip movement to stay involved through a route change. His zone awareness and ability to communicate adjustments complement that athleticism. He can give up the first release and then rely on recovery speed, while a lean frame and inconsistent tackle finish create problems against larger receivers. The projection is a developing coverage corner whose recognition and contact reliability must catch up to his movement.

01Experience and production

Robinson appeared in 14 games and made 12 starts in 2025, recording four interceptions, seven pass breakups and 20 tackles. He had played in four reserve games with three tackles in 2024. The larger second-year role provides meaningful coverage experience, with only one season of substantial starting work in this evaluation.

02Coverage movement and release leverage

Robinson turns his hips fluidly, moves laterally and has the speed to run vertically with a receiver. The transition from turn to acceleration is smooth. He can nevertheless concede the initial release, including easy inside access to larger receivers. Against Tennessee’s Chris Brazzell, he recovered into position but failed to finish the tackle. That rep captures the current limitation: the speed repairs some lost ground, while leverage and contact still determine the result. His lean frame leaves less margin once the receiver controls the collision.

03Route recognition and zone awareness

Robinson can monitor multiple routes in zone, recognize developing threats and communicate adjustments against motion. His man-coverage anticipation is less consistent. Receivers can manipulate his response to the stem and move him out of favorable leverage. His fluid turn to undercut a Georgia Tech post demonstrates the adjustment he can make after the route develops. Earlier recognition would let him close the window from a stronger position instead of using his athleticism to make up ground.

04Closing burst and ball location

Robinson can plant and drive on in-breaking routes and recover from soft press. He also shows a useful downhill trigger when he recognizes a play forming behind blockers. Ball location is less consistent: he can reach the receiver without turning his head early enough to contest. His closing ability creates opportunities, but he needs a better transition from arriving in coverage to identifying and playing the pass.

05Play strength and tackling

Robinson is willing to trigger downhill and has successful press reps, but larger receivers can displace him or bounce off his tackles. Gambling and late grabbing further reduce reliability after he loses position. His lean frame makes leverage and timing particularly important; he cannot depend on overpowering the opponent after an awkward approach. He needs to retain a stronger tackling position and finish with more consistency once he reaches the ball.

06Alignment and matchup profile

Robinson has coverage tools for outside work and a possible matchup role in the slot. He can mirror from off coverage, guide a receiver toward the boundary from press and turn comfortably through zone. Nickel should remain a selective projection because moving inside increases traffic and contact demands. Matchup selection matters in either location, particularly against receivers who can use size to disrupt his leverage.

The case for the player

Strengths

  • Hip movement keeps him involved when the route changes.

  • Recognizes multiple developing threats in zone.

The questions that remain

Concerns

  • Receivers can manipulate his leverage and route response.

  • Reaching the receiver does not always produce a completed tackle.

Building the fit

NFL role and scheme fit

Use Robinson in a coverage role that takes advantage of off-coverage movement, zone vision and communication. He can play outside, with selected slot assignments where the receiving matchup fits his movement better than a physical contest. Do not treat nickel as a solution to his tackling or strength limitations. More dependable route anticipation and ball location are needed before projecting him as a consistently independent man-cover defender.

The Draftanomics view

Bottom line

Robinson has NFL coverage movement and a path to a starting role, with meaningful development still required. Zone recognition, recovery speed and fluid transitions are the strengths. The projection is less secure against physical receivers and on reps that require early man-coverage anticipation or a firm tackle finish.

Sources and methodology

  • Retained bio and measurements: Draftanomics prospect ingest (CollegeFootballData rosters and recruiting), retained seed data/seed/prospects_upcoming_full.parquet.
  • Retained college production: CollegeFootballData season statistics via the retained player cross-reference; position-relevant categories only; all-zero category rows dropped.
  • Age: unavailable — no birth date or age is retained for the 2027 class.
  • Transfer history: not retained — the page shows the current school and, where the frozen id names a different school, the former school.
  • Public Draft Board: sealed snapshot as of August 31, 2026; per-source ranks are not published under the aggregate-only source policy.
