What are feature contributions?
The breakdown of which signals pushed a prospect's grade up or down, so a rank can be argued with rather than just accepted.
Every grade on the site decomposes into the pieces that produced it: college production, athletic testing, age, program strength, analyst consensus, and the rest. Each shows how far it moved this particular player, in which direction.
The purpose is disagreement. A rank you cannot interrogate is a rank you can only accept or ignore. If a prospect is graded up mostly on production against weak opposition, you should be able to see that and weigh it yourself.
Contributions are relative to this class, not absolute. "Production: +8" means his production moved him eight places relative to the other players being ranked, which is why the same profile can contribute differently in a strong class than a weak one.
Where a signal is missing — no combine, no ingested college season — the contribution is absent rather than zero. Those are different claims, and collapsing them would hide how much of a grade rests on how little.
